‘Tectonic Surface’ is a play on our perception of surface, depth and materiality. This mural was part of my graduate school thesis which explored the role of paint, colour, and surface in architectural theory and practice. Spray-painted directly on a concrete block building facade, sections of the wall are intentionally left exposed while the painted design creates an illusion of boxes that appear to recede.
